Senior Foreperson

Essential Skills:

• All applicants must have a minimum of 3-years full time professional experience in the role, or at least 2 years full time highly relevant experience.

In addition, the following will be required:

• Knowledge and experience of horse training and handling methods specific to thoroughbred racing
• Proven ability to manage a team of staff
• Ability to check horses for injuries and report back to the trainer
• Knowledge of equine treatments and medications
• Knowledge of racehorse training and gear
• Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction and provide information
• Basic computer skills - rostering, excellent understanding of the use of Prism
• Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses
• Proven as a reliable worker, with excellent horsemanship skills
• Must hold or be willing to obtain a Racing NSW Forepersons Licence
