This colt boasts a highly commercial and internationally proven pedigree, combining elite Japanese bloodlines with one of Australia’s most consistent female families.

He is by Maurice (JPN), one of the most influential international stallions of the modern era, who continues to prove himself as a major force in Australian breeding. From 914 runners, Maurice has produced 587 winners, 34 stakes winners and 23 Group winners. His stock are renowned for their class, versatility and durability, performing from sprint distances through to elite staying trips. A stallion that can get them in both hemispheres.

In Australia, Maurice is the sire of elite performers such as our very own Hitotsu -the first horse since champion Mahogany in 1994 to complete the coveted Victoria Derby / Australian Guineas / Australian Derby treble! Furthermore, his progeny include the Doomben 10,000 winner Mazu, Group 2 winner Bank Maur, Group 3 winners Kibou, Genzano and Ethereum Girl, and Namesake, winner of the Listed Oxlade Stakes, a horse we were proud to train and develop, further reinforcing our confidence in the sire’s ability to produce high-end performers within our program.

On the international stage, Maurice’s progeny include multiple Group 1 winners such as Geraldina, Jack d’Or, Pixie Knight, Admire Zoom and North Bridge, confirming his ability to sire elite performers across jurisdictions and racing environments.

The dam Echo Gal (Stratum) was a tough and talented racemare, winning four races includng as a two-year-old and earning $348,475. She placed in both the Group 3 Toy Show Handicap and Group 3 Sheraco Stakes, and also finished second in the Listed Heritage Stakes and third in the Listed Magic Millions Guineas. Importantly, Echo Gal has proven herself as a broodmare — three foals to race for three winners, including Cap Ten (by Capitalist), a three-time winner, giving this colt a strong record of immediate family performance.

The second dam Pink Siris (Encosta de Lago) adds further black-type depth as the producer of Group 2 winner Etanaand stakes-placed Echo Gal, while the third dam Miss Helga was a stakes-winning two-year-old and is the dam of Hong Kong Champion Stayer Liberator, and from the same family as South Australian Derby winner Coco Sun.

Physically, this colt is an athletic, scopey type with good length and plenty of room to improve. He has a lovely way of moving and carries himself well.
