Sword Of State x Prose Poem

How ownership works

Racehorse ownership is typically structured through shared ownership, where individuals or groups own a percentage of a horse. This allows you to be involved at a level that suits you.

What is ownership?

Racehorse ownership means owning a share in a horse that is trained, cared for and campaigned by CMR. You become part of the team behind that horse - sharing in the experience, the wins, the journey, and the story as it unfolds. Ownership connects you directly to the sport, from training track to race day.

Who is it for?

Ownership is for anyone who loves racing and wants to experience it from the inside.

That might be:

  • First-time owners curious about getting involved
  • Existing owners expanding their portfolio
  • Friends, families or business groups
  • Corporate and hospitality groups

You can own a small share or a larger percentage, whatever suits your goals and level of involvement.

How does it work?

The process is simple and guided by our team:

  • We match you with an ownership opportunity that suits your goals
  • Your share is set up and registered
  • Your horse enters training with CMR
  • You receive regular updates, insights, media and invitations to race days and events

Throughout the journey, our team supports you with clear communication, expert advice, and industry-leading owner experiences.

Pricing and availability are discussed privately to ensure suitability.

Why we Like this Horse

This colt has all the hallmarks of an early-running type. He is compact, strong and athletic, with a powerful hindquarter and the kind of physical maturity that suggests he will get up and go early. He presents as a precocious colt with plenty of natural strength and purpose.

He is by Sword Of State, New Zealand's Champion Two-Year-Old and a multiple Group-winning sprinter. Sword Of State has made a highly encouraging start to his stud career, with his first crop already producing stakes winners from a relatively small number of runners, highlighting his potential to become a significant sire.

His dam, Prose Poem, is by Street Cry and comes from a distinguished black-type family that has produced stakes winners across both Europe and Australia. The pedigree provides an appealing blend of international class and proven performance, while also offering the valuable benefit of a full outcross pedigree.

Physically, this colt is exactly the type we like to see at this stage of his development. He is well-made, balanced and strong, with the build of a horse that should be well suited to sprinting and capable of showing ability early in his career.

With a young sire making all the right headlines, a proven international family and an athletic physique built for speed, this colt presents as a very exciting racing prospect.

Training & Development

We are thrilled to have secured this strong colt from the renowned Cambridge Stud, one of the Southern Hemisphere's leading thoroughbred nurseries.

This colt is by Sword Of State, New Zealand's Champion Two-Year-Old and a multiple Group-winning performer. His race record was highlighted by victory in the Group 1 Sistema Stakes at two, before adding another Group win at three. Sword Of State has made an outstanding start to his stud career. From his first crop of just 79 foals, he has already produced three winners from only nine runners, including stakes-winning filly Torture, winner of the MRC Debutant Stakes and a recent placegetter in the Karaka Millions 2YO. He is also the sire of the exciting Warwoven, who remains unbeaten in two starts and is rapidly emerging as one of Australia's most promising juveniles.

Sword Of State is by Snitzel out of the Encosta De Lago mare In The Vanguard, giving him a pedigree packed with speed, class and significant upside as a young sire.

This colt offers the added attraction of being a full outcross. He is out of the Street Cry mare Prose Poem, a sister to stakes winner Fencing and a half-sister to multiple European stakes winner Mirsky. The female family is rich in international black-type, tracing back to Latice, winner of the Group 1 Prix de Diane and Champion Three-Year-Old Filly in France. The pedigree also includes Lawman, whose influence extends to Australia through performers such as Group 2 winner Libran.

Physically, this colt is every bit as appealing as his pedigree suggests. He possesses great bone, natural strength and a compact, athletic build. With a classic head, powerful hindquarters and plenty of substance, he displays all the hallmarks of a precocious colt capable of making an impact early in his racing career.

Combining an exciting young sire, a proven international family and an attractive full outcross pedigree, this colt represents a particularly compelling prospect.
