We were delighted to secure another Too Darn Hot from the sale, this time out of the New Zealand-bred mare Gunmetal Girl.

Too Darn Hot needs little introduction, a Group 1-class racehorse who is now asserting himself as a dominant force in the breeding ranks across both hemispheres. He is proving a remarkably versatile stallion, producing good horses at all distance ranges, evidenced by our own successes in Shanwah and Perspiration, to name a couple.

Her dam, Gunmetal Girl, hails from a lovely New Zealand family. She is by Proisir, a son of champion broodmare sire Choisir, and out of Prophet Jewel, by champion broodmare sire Encosta De Lago — a powerful blend of elite, broodmare bloodlines!

Her second dam, Ghia, is a half-sister to the exceptional Freequent, a seven-time winner and outstanding stakes performer, placing six times at black-type level, including a third in the Group 1 Hawke’s Bay Cup. Beyond her own racetrack success, Freequent has left an enduring mark as a producer, such as top-class performers I Do, Iggi Pop, and Justaskme - a 13-time winner!

Physically, she boasts excellent length, good shoulder and bone. She covers the ground well when underway and presents as a classic, versatile filly.
