This colt is by Too Darn Hot, a son of Dubawi and one of the most exciting young sires in Australia. Too Darn Hot has produced 418 runners for 253 winners (60.5%), including 31 stakes winners and 18 Group winners, with colts like Broadsiding, Hotazhell, Rivellino, and Shanwah. His Australian-bred colts have excelled at all levels over multiple distances, combining early maturity, and toughness to race on.
Too Darn Hot further enhanced his burgeoning reputation with Tropicus, recently winning the Group 1 Oakleigh Plate. Tropicus is bred on a Danzig-line cross, the same sire-line influence present in this colt, whose dam is Imoto, by Danzig’s son Bianconi.
The dam, Imoto, is a three-time winner with nearly $200,000 in stakes and has already produced multiple winners, including Sokudo. She is from a family rich in black-type success, including Yosei, a triple Group 1-winning filly, and The Spirit of Zero, a listed winner, giving this colt depth, durability, and proven class throughout his pedigree.
This colt exudes presence and power, with exceptional anges, and a wonderful athletic build. Having trained stars like Perspiration and Shanwah from the same sire, we have a great handle on the breed, and excited to get him into the system!
